Founded in 1996, Pennsylvania Transformer Technology LLC (PTT)—acquired by Quanta Services in November 2023—designs and manufactures medium‑ to large‑scale utility and industrial transformers. Although officially established in 1996, its engineering and manufacturing heritage in Canonsburg, PA, extends back to transformer operations under McGraw‑Edison and Cooper Power Systems beginning in the late 1920s.PTT operates two major U.S. facilities: a sprawling Canonsburg complex producing units from 5 MVA up to 600 MVA and 345 kV, and a Raeford, North Carolina plant, established in 1992, focused on smaller power and distribution transformers.Employing roughly 390 people, PTT works to global standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, CSA, ISO) and uses modern engineering tools like FEA and 3D modelling to deliver high‑quality, durable transformer solutions.
