Founded in 2022 Derapi headquartered in San Francisco, provides a universal API platform for developers and manufacturers of distributed energy resource (DER) devices—including solar panels, batteries, EV chargers, smart thermostats, and more. Their solution standardizes data integration, eliminating bespoke backend development and reducing time to market and maintenance costs for energy software applications. With just a few dozen employees, Derapi supports DERMS, virtual power plants (VPPs), energy analytics platforms, and installers expanding into DER programs. In early 2025, they partnered with inverter manufacturer Solis to enable seamless access for Solis storage customers to VPP and demand‑response programs across the U.S. and Canada
