Founded in 2015, Hounen Solar America Inc. is the U.S. arm of the Chino‑based solar manufacturer Hounen Solar. It launched with a $33 million investment in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, creating a 200,720 sq ft assembly facility and 200 new jobs. The plant began producing 1 GW of crystalline silicon modules annually by late 2024, targeting residential, commercial, and utility markets with advanced bifacial and high‑efficiency TOPCon/HIT cell technologies. In June 2025, one of its modules passed a rigorous PVEL hail test with <1% power loss and no structural damage, demonstrating exceptional resilience. Supported by U.S. warehouses and logistics, the company is scaling toward a planned 3–4 GW annual capacity.
