Founded in 1935, HellermannTyton began as Hellermann Electric in Croydon, UK, co-founded by Paul Hellermann and Jack Bowthorpe. It emerged from the merger of Hellermann’s German business with Insuloid Manufacturing in Manchester, and introduced the groundbreaking “Tyton System” for continuous strap cable bundling in 1965. By 1969, it had expanded to the United States and formally became known as HellermannTyton in 1999 when the brand was unified globally. Today, HellermannTyton employs over 5,000 people across 39 countries and operates multiple manufacturing sites worldwide. The company is a trusted supplier of engineered solutions for fastening, protecting, identifying, and managing cables across industries such as automotive, aerospace, telecommunications, rail, renewable energy, and electrical infrastructure. It continues to innovate in cable ties, labeling systems, connectors, and specialized application tools.
