(established in 1900) opened its first overseas facility in Griffin, Georgia.As a U.S. subsidiary, Toppan USA focuses exclusively on transparent high‑barrier film, most notably its flagship GL FILM (part of the GL BARRIER family). Developed using Toppan’s proprietary coating and vapor‑deposition technologies, GL FILM offers world‑class protection against moisture and oxygen while remaining microwaveable, metal‑detector safe, and transparent—making it suitable for food, beverage, medical, personal‑care and industrial packaging applications.The company’s product forms a multi‑layer structure (e.g. PET or OPA base layer, inorganic alumina/silica vapor‑deposition layer, and barrier coating) that replaces aluminum foil while delivering recyclability and visual appeal. GL FILM is used in over 15,000 products across 45 countries, with new PE‑based and BOPP‑based mono‑material versions currently being developed for enhanced sustainability.

All production of our GL-Barrier films are produced in our clean room facility.
