Organization Information : Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Orange, California, S2 Systems, Inc. designs and manufactures specialized AC electrical equipment tailored exclusively for commercial and utility‑scale solar and storage projects. Their product lineup includes UL‑891 solar switchboards, pad‑mount transformers (75 kVA to 3 MVA), UV acrylic AC recombiners optimized for string‑inverter systems, visible‑blade disconnect switches, panelboards, and bolt‑switch safety devices. All gear is engineered by solar professionals in California and built in Ohio for cleaner installs and easier O&M. With 11–50 employees, S2 Systems emphasizes “Deliberate by Design™” – prioritizing wire handling, thermal performance, and solar-specific layout to simplify field deployment.
Other Information: “Back in the 90s, I had the privilege of working in professional motorsports—specifically, Winston Cup and SCCA Trans Am. I was an accomplished welder, fabricator, and machinist. Because of my ability to create something from a mere idea, I was frequently tasked with building that which did not exist except in someone’s mind. Valve covers, oil pans, oil filter housings, custom tools, you name it. All created from a simple napkin sketch, or just a dream. Thirty plus years later, I have had occasion to reflect on our design philosophy at S2 Systems. All of our bespoke equipment has a common path: our designs are birthed on the rooftops, on the shade structures, in the field where the equipment will be used. We design our equipment to be both installer-centric and solar-friendly. Our industry is unique and our equipment must be able to meet those unique requirements—like wire handling and thermal performance. After the the field and industry requirements are defined, we then start applying the relevant codes, standards, etc. that are the guideposts to developing safe equipment. Everything we do is Deliberate by Design. There are no accidents. From our ACRs and UCP to our forthcoming AC Disconnects, every aspect of the design is deliberate.”
