Organization Information : Founded in 2009 and headquartered in London, Ontario, Renix Inc. is a Canadian cleantech company that develops advanced steady‑state ion exchange systems for liquid separation and purification. Its patented platform, RenixUIX™, enables continuous adsorption and resin regeneration—offering high-efficiency removal of dissolved compounds in water, mining, food‑ingredient, metals recovery, and nutrient recycling applications. Initially supported by angel investors and Bioindustrial Innovation Canada, Renix later secured strategic investment from ClonBio Group, expanding into agri‑processing and metal reuse sectors. With fewer than 30 employees, the firm has earned innovation awards and demonstrated pilot to commercial-scale installations globally.
Other Information: Founded in 2009, The RenixUIX™ platform evolved from research on the use of steady-state processing for soy protein recovery at Western University's Faculty of Chemical & Biochemical Engineering. Renix President & Founder Christine Haas was attracted to the technology’s potential to transform critical industrial processes while also advancing the industry’s business and sustainability goals. Given the widespread use of liquid separation & purification, the technology presented an opportunity for significant impact in multiple processing industries. Gathering a team of dedicated engineers and scientists, Haas led Renix through early investment rounds and brought the early-stage concept through platform development, testing and four scale-up stages. The team also built customer and partner relationships in agri-business, mining and industrial water management, testing the platform in multiple applications.
