Other Information: In 2017, co-founder Manish Hebbar experienced an eye-opening journey to Antarctica. While kayaking amongst seals, whales, and penguins — hundreds of miles from carbon-emitting power plants — he saw how a seemingly isolated landscape was exposed to climate change. Manish refocused his efforts on solving one of the biggest bottlenecks for deploying wind and solar projects in the US: helping renewable energy companies to source and structure tax equity capital. Then the industry approached a new point of inflection bolstered by legislation, corporate sentiment, and individual action. After founding and successfully exiting his previous company, technical co-founder Sumit Chachra was in pursuit of impactful work to preserve a healthy planet for his 7-year old daughter. His exploration of climate tech solutions led him to learn more about tax credits, the catalyst for renewable energy. When Manish met Sumit, they began charting how financial technology could unlock knowledge and empower the teams dealing with complexity and inefficiency.
